Congratulations on Your Upcoming Graduation!
To celebrate the significant academic achievements of our graduates, each spring we host Commencement. These ceremonies, steeped in tradition dating back to medieval times, are full of pomp and circumstance.
Commencement will take place on May 16, 2020 at 10 a.m. on the East Steps of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Graduates may invite as many friends and family members as they like since tickets are not required. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and even though the ceremony itself begins at 10 a.m. the academic procession will begin at 9:30 a.m., so please encourage your guests to be seated prior to that time. Guests with disabilities should contact Disability Support Services at least two weeks prior to Commencement to arrange for accommodations.
Students do not need to fill out a special form to participate in the ceremony. Students who have applied for graduation and completed the graduation checklist will have done all that they need to do to participate in the ceremony.
